16. Date
Whether fresh or dried, dates contain different types of antioxidants. Moreover, Fresh dates contain carotenoids and anthocyanidins. On the other side, dried dates contain polyphenols. They are just like green tea.
Five to six dates provide about 80 milligrams of magnesium, an essential mineral that helps dilate blood vessels. The present research shows that supplementing with 380 milligrams of magnesium can reduce our blood pressure. However, be careful of taking such a large dose all at once because it often causes diarrhea. (9)
